In short, it is worth it and have a nice watching, but if you have to force yourself, i do not recommend it because watching is supposed to be a pleasure and not a duty :3. It did feel loooooong af when i was watching it, but the ending was dope. Even had a rare moment where an anime almost made me cry.
Compare it to like the hunter exams arc. There isn't a single boring part of the hunter exams. Every single part is good.
From the start with gon to gon getting knocked out and being told what happened. Also the mystery surrounding illumi. Also the worse part about the chimera ant arc (besides the boring stuff) is the flippin killua needle.
Why is chimera ant arc so bad? The arc isn’t very good, and it’s probably the worst arc in hxh, because of the following reasons: Slow pacing, a lot of screen time for irrelevant characters, and a lack of interest in the characters themselves.
Is chimera ant a good arc? Chimera ant is the best arc in the story to do that. Also i enjoyed gon and killua teaming up with hisoka for once and the last battle was good.

The world exists outside of oneself, but hisoka doesn't care. Anyway, i binge watched the whole anime and chimera ant was definitely different and slower, but it's still hxh. If you liked the rest of the series you'll probably like this arc.

But even youpi grows to appreciate nen and human potential after fighting knuckle and the others. Knuckle struggles with his soft heart. Shoot finds his bravery.

I recently finished the chimera ant arc and i can't understand why its called the best arc in hxh or best arc in anime, some parts like gon turning into his adult form or ikalgo's statergy to stop bloster or netero and meruem's fight were nice but those parts only make like 5% of the arc altogether, even the netero vs meruem fight wasn't that great, rather it was just a show of.
Bruh, the chimera ant arc is the best arc in hxh and personally one of the greatest arcs in shounen anime. Well the starting maybe a bit slow and for some people the insects maybe disgusting. Now the main part of the answer.
