I wouldn't mind playing on 1080p if i had a 1440p i think. Hopefully they will patch this game for higher resolutions and learn from their mistakes for their next installments. Um if you invested in the monitor and hardware to run 1440p im pretty fucking sure you would have a problem with it.
Luckily, one enterprising fan has created a fix for the issue. The bug, according to reports, is that at the 1920x1080 resolution, revengeance automatically sets. Revengeance is on sale on steam and i am considering picking it up however i heard that there is no native support for 1440p.

1080p upscaled on a 1440p display looks disgusting, and far worse than native 1080p. So they are consciously choosing to subject everyone who spent $500+ on a display, just because they are too ignorant to take the very short. There's also no borderless window option.
My game lags something fierce in fullscreen. There's a fix to make the window borderless, check the game forums in steam. In short, you’re screwed if you own a 1440p monitor.

Everytime you play the game,you have to choose 800x600 again because the game auto detect your resolution at every launch and change the resolution.
