I believe it's exactly 30 to answer tc question. You don't fat roll until you hit 70. 1 so it would make sense for 30 to be the limit for light. Rolling is a gameplay element in dark souls.

Not just with better rolls, but also just. Exactly 70 isn't a fat roll, but the game carries at least one more decimal for equip load % than it shows. You can have two different setups which both show 70. 0%, one of which is a fat roll and one of which isn't.
It just goes further. The last cap is true, but i have doubts about the 50%, as i notice no difference when rolling below and above 50%. After a lil test i noticed a subtle fast roll below 30%.
I'm not sure, could it be that the transition between fast and mid roll is progressive from 0% to 50%, maybe? I try fast rolls strat. At the beginning, its difficult to get used, to the lack of poise and lower defense absorption.
But damn the mobility, it can be handy against ganks. I felt pretty bad just rolling like that during i dont know 10. If he’s 30/112 he’s a little too overweight for fast roll, he’s doing medium rolls with that, which is not bad, as long as you’re not fatrolling its fine.

Yeah when i started out i midrolled due to my experience with dark souls 3 and i was just thinking oh it’s just a slower game so slower roll. But fast roll is insanely easier. Medium roll is better for rolling if you think you might get rollcaught, fastroll is better if you want to roll things perfectly since you dont have rollpoise.
There are also some things you cant escape safely without a fastroll. No defense is unpenetrable, i say always go with fast roll btw is it much easier to do.
