For the ipad, i primarily use it for storage/streaming of videos on my local network via an smb connection in nplayer. Works absolutely great for that. It is visible/accessible from files locally and remotely.

To my knowledge you can not use it like icloud except in two ways. The first is for pictures if you download the wd photo app and connect it to you mycloud you could then back them up. The second is if you make a backup via itunes.

Select backup > disk backup to backup the whole system disk. If you only want to backup system partitions, then choose system backup. Click add disk to select the disk where windows 10 is installed to be backed up.
Click the right edge of the second bar and choose select a network location. then, click add share or nas devices and type the ip. Click the icon to preview and select photos and then click ok to return to home screen. Click start backup to save all the photos.
